Greetings Beautiful Beings,
The reason I am writing this letter is that 2023 has started with a big bang literally as most of the small temple roof has fallen in from a brand new leak that developed during the historical 100-year flooding event. As I write this we are seeing even more leaks and water damage located all over the temple grounds. There is a list of water damages below which I will update as we find out about them. Both Governor Newsom and President Biden have declared this a “Natural Disaster Zone” and as we are facing yet another historical flooding event tomorrow I am sure this list will grow, unfortunately.
This comes as we try to recover from the last three years of on an off again shutdowns and ongoing financial struggles, during which we have kept the sanctuary gates open to all those in need. We have expanded our charitable outreach by hiring a Parish Nurse to help all temple members in need, and we now have a therapist who comes to the temple monthly to do health checks for all those in need.
We continue to provide sanctuary for up to 20+ people in our housing program at the temple. Here we do job training in animal care, housekeeping and catering, to name a few of our programs. Additionally, we have kept our doors open for this victim of the recent flooding event that has hit all of Northern California.
The sanctuary maintains an animal collection of over 100+ rescue animals here at our wildlife sanctuary, which we sincerely care for.
We usually get by running the retreat center, which funds our charitable missions. This is not the case as we continue trying to preserve our beautiful temple buildings and other parts of the sanctuary for future generations.
So with a humble heart and faith in the Divine Grace of Isis, The Great Mother Goddess, we are looking for your donations to help us get through this Holiday season!

Temple of Isis / Isis Oasis Sanctuary
Donations Goal $30,000.00 Breakdown :
$25,000.00 – Sanctuary Maintence & Building Fund
Right before this crazy flooding event, we finished a 5,000.00 dollar project where we finally redid our Historical Redwood Theater floors – this is where the Grateful Dead did the sound recordings of their hit album “Terrapin Station” – just in time for our Annual Holiday harp Concert! The donations came through our lovely clergy Rev. Anandha Ray and the Chimera Collective.
This fund helps us maintain our beautiful historic buildings looking pretty.
- The leak of the Pavilion Roof: We have a couple of little leaks in the pavilion roof due to the historical rain damage.
- The Small Temple Needs A New Roof: During this crazy flooding event most of the small temple’s interior roof collapsed, so we have to redo the whole inside and do a new roof outside. Until those repairs are done the small temple is closed.
- The Goddess Gallery: As the newest building here at the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, it should have been ok. Sadly we now have a couple of new leaks that must be fixed.
- The Pool Area: I know we all love the botanical collections here at the Oasis which span over a 150-year period starting in the 1890s till today. Sadly we lost two of our Acacia trees that have fallen in the pool area and knock out part of our fencing and damaged the pool. So until further notice, the pool is shut down.
- Animal Enclosures: Sadly one of our favorite animal enclosures that houses long-time peacock resident Abdullah (he is our oldest Persian Blue) and his wife, Penny, has collapsed due to a large tree branch falling on it. We have rehoused the peacocks but they do need their house back.
- Our Lady Loreon Vigne Memorial Bench: Sadly the construction of the Lady Loreon Vigne Memorial bench has melted away during this crazy flooding event. We are hoping that we can repair this bench as it was something Lady Loreon loved personally.
- The Sauna: Our beloved wine barrel sauna desperately needs some love as the outer shell of the sauna has begun to melt away in this historical rain storm.
- Gift Shop Roof: Last as of today we have found out our beloved gift also needs a new roof as it has disintegrated in the rain. We have tarped it for now but it is closed until further notice.
$5,000.00 Upgrading & Expanding Our Animal Enclosures
We have hosted many rescued animals here at the sanctuary for the last 45 years. While we do our best with our current enclosures, we aim to expand and modernize what we offer for future animals here at the sanctuary. We are currently considering upgrading our bird and wild cat enclosures.
$5,000.00 Sanctuary For All Fund
With this fund, we hope to help sponsor new slots for individuals seeking sanctuary here at the temple! This allows us to keep providing access to our monthly Parish Nurse and Therapist visits & to expand our job training programs with outside classes coming here to our sanctuary.
